Day 48
Started off the day with a very nice text convo. It began with the topic of sending pictures and then it swerved into more serious "but why did you make that choice" grown up type stuff. My favorite line - Don't you get this tingly feeling when you feel something is right and it's been awaiting you all along." Thanks Erin!

Day 46
Two super duper special people, my cousin and my husband, told me about a story on CNN that followed a girl who helped nurse her family back to health when they all came down with Ebola. She managed to protect herself by making her own protective gear. And, this extraordinary girl was named . . . FATU!

Day 44
Milkshake, lunch of champions!! I have such good memories of going out to get this brand of milkshake when I was working as a lab technician. Nice to relive those good times when I discovered a small deli near my school selling the same brand.

Day 43
Nikki, the customer service rep from Amazon.com, said their company is blessed to have a customer like me. I guess it never hurts to be honest about a mailing mishap that worked out in your favor - thanks Nikki!!!

Day 22
I have started listening to audio books after following the recommendation of the same friend who gave me a book yesterday. I am very happy to say that I absolutely LOVE it. Especially nowadays when everything can be downloaded in your fancy smart phone, there is no stigma to worry about in being considered someone who enjoys an audio book. I have about three hours left in Gulp by Mary Roach and I'm sad to see the time quickly winding down. However, this just means there are more books to listen to on the horizon and I now have a new hobby to indulge myself in.

Day 21
Unexpected surprise today from a friend - a new book. How sweet!!
Deep down I've always had a slight envy for people who can devour books. I'm a very slow reader so I tend to shy away from novels that are very demanding. My commitment to a career in science has also trained me to have little respect for anything longer than 10 to 12 pages with no figures and is not a text book. This book will be a good challenge for me - a way to strengthen my reading muscles. I hope to start it soon as it comes highly recommended by the gifter.
